Welcome to Unit 5 & 6.

Moors Festival - KS2

A selection of year 5 and 6 children took part in the annual Moors Festival run by the Dartmoor School Sports Partnership. Albeit a little cold and cloudy, the children had great fun letterboxing on Saddle Tor where they had to find little boxes filled with a stamp. Once located, the children had to stamp their score card. Some of the boxes were hard to spot, but the children really enjoyed this activity. Lastly, they walked up to the trig point at Rippon Tor and set up an orienteering course for the others to find. The children had great fun in such beautiful surroundings. Well done everyone!  Please see pictures below:

Year 6 SATs Week - Exam Conditions!

The children in Year 6 have taken their SATs. They completed a total of six papers in English, spelling, grammar and maths. For many of the children, this was their first experience of sitting tests under exam conditions, and they have all coped brilliantly. Every single one of them worked to the best of their ability during each test, and they can all be extremely proud of themselves - we are!

Huge thank you to the team of School Association volunteers who came into school early each day to prepare a delicious breakfast. This really is a great way for the children to start the day, ensures that they are well-fuelled for the morning and really helps to relax them ahead of sitting the tests. It was lovely to see them enjoying the food which had been prepared whilst sitting and chatting together.
